Private Club Charter

PURPOSE AND NATURE OF THE CLUB
1.1 Purpose
The purpose of High Street Grappling is to promote the positive practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. We aim to foster a supportive and respectful environment where members can enhance their skills, achieve personal growth, and enjoy the benefits of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
1.2 Private Club Status
High Street Grappling operates as a private club located at 177 High Street, Mactier, Ontario, Canada. Membership and access to our facilities and services are available only to individuals who meet our criteria and are approved on a case-by-case basis.
1.3 Not a Commercial Business
High Street Grappling is not a commercial business. Our operations are conducted under the principles of a private club with exclusive membership.

MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
2.1 Eligibility
Potential members must be at least 18 years old. For those under 18, a parent or guardian must sign on their behalf. Members must be in good health and capable of participating in physical activities.
2.2 Behavioral Standards
Members must adhere to the club’s Code of Conduct and respect the rights and safety of others.
2.3 Application Process
By purchasing memberships, passes, or lessons through our website, users confirm that they meet the membership criteria and understand the requirements.
2.4 Approval and Denial
All membership applications and lesson purchases are subject to approval by High Street Grappling. We reserve the right to deny any application or purchase without providing a reason.
2.5 Membership Cancellation
Memberships can be canceled at any time at the sole discretion of High Street Grappling.


HONORARY MEMBERSHIPS
3.1 Purpose
Honorary memberships may be awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu community or to High Street Grappling.
3.2 Criteria
Honorary memberships are granted based on merit and are not subject to the standard application process. Criteria for honorary membership include exceptional dedication, achievements, or contributions to the sport and community.
3.3 Granting Honorary Memberships
The decision to grant an honorary membership is made by the club manager. Honorary members receive all the privileges of regular membership but are not required to pay membership fees.

USE OF FACILITIES
4.1 Access Restrictions
High Street Grappling is located on private property. Access to the club's facilities is granted solely for attending classes, lessons, seminars, or special events at scheduled times. Members and invited guests must adhere to the club’s schedule and access policies.
4.2 Reservation and Cancellation
Members must follow the club’s procedures for reserving and canceling equipment or facilities.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
5.1 Health Screening
Members may be required to complete health screenings or provide medical documentation to ensure fitness for participation in club activities.
5.2 Safety and Emergency Procedures
Members must follow all safety guidelines provided by the club. Emergency procedures, including instructions for handling accidents and injuries, are posted in the facility. Members should familiarize themselves with these procedures and follow them in case of an emergency.

CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
6.1 Code of Conduct
All members are required to adhere to the club’s Code of Conduct, which outlines acceptable behavior, respect for others, and adherence to safety protocols.
6.2 Disciplinary Actions
The club reserves the right to take disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspension, or expulsion, against members who violate the Code of Conduct or other club policies.

CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY
7.1 Confidential Information
Any personal or sensitive information provided by members will be kept confidential and used solely for the purposes of membership management and communication.
7.2 Privacy Rights
Members have the right to access and request correction of their personal information held by the club.

AMENDMENTS AND REVIEWS
8.1 Periodic Review
The Charter will be reviewed periodically, and members will be notified of any significant changes.
8.2 Member Input
Members may submit feedback or suggestions regarding the Charter or club policies. Such input will be considered but does not guarantee changes.

CLUB MANAGEMENT
9.1 Club Manager
The day-to-day operations of the club will be managed by the club manager. The club manager is responsible for enforcing the Charter and club policies.
9.2 Dispute Resolution
Any disputes between members and the club will be addressed by the club manager according to the procedures outlined in the club’s Terms & Conditions.

PROPERTY LIABILITY
10.1 Private Property
High Street Grappling is located on private property. Access to the property is limited to the driveway, parking area, and facilities marked with High Street Grappling signage. Access is granted only for the specific purposes of attending scheduled classes, lessons, seminars, or special events.
10.2 Liability Relief
The property owner of 177 High Street, Mactier, Ontario, Canada, is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred by members or their guests while on the premises. Members waive any claims against the property owner related to their use of the facilities.
